5" x 7" Rectangular Grommet Pad with Center Vent
Precision CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminum rectangular grommet pad with center vent. Designed for through-bolt mounting on fiberglass pedestal walls in saltwater marine environments. Straight through-holes allow fasteners to pass through, while the center vent provides weld gas release during installation. Provides galvanic isolation between stainless fasteners and the aluminum deck substrate. Pairs with SKU 0178 Countersunk Pad for a matching hole pattern. Commonly used on top or through the side of a deck pedestal, as well as through the fiberglass skin of a hardtop or T-top.

What is the center vent hole for?
The center vent hole allows trapped air and gases to escape during welding, preventing blow-through and ensuring a clean, full-penetration weld.
Does this pad have a matching countersunk pad?
Yes — SKU 0164 pairs with SKU 0178, a 1/4" thick 5" x 7" rectangular countersunk pad with the same hole pattern. The grommet pad goes on the inside of the pedestal wall; the CS pad goes on the outside for a flush finish.
What does galvanic isolation mean?
When stainless steel fasteners contact aluminum directly, a corrosion-causing electrical reaction can occur. A grommet pad sits between them, breaking the circuit and protecting both materials.
